Winter Bird Watch: Edson

The Winter Bird Watch program is an interactive hands on program. We start the program learning about winter survival such as hibernation, adaptations and migration. We also discuss why some birds migrate and some stay. After we will do stations consisting of making bird feeders, using field guides and more. After making these bird feeders educators have the option of our educator going outside wio hang the feeders and using binoculars for a short bird walk.

The Kingston Parks and Recreation Department boasts year-round Environmental Education Programs that operate out of a variety of Kingston's parks and strives to educate youth and adults, so they are more literate of the natural world around them and the boundless opportunities available in the park system. These programs are recommended for school classes, homeschool groups and youth organizations. To schedule a date or time not listed or for more information email kckeegan@kingston-ny.gov .
