2025 Seasonal Vacancies - Thursday, March 6, 2025

 
 
 
 

The City of Kingston Parks and Recreation Department is now accepting applications for a number of seasonal positions.

 

Seasonal Positions

All seasonal positions require submission of the same application. Please indicate on the application which position you are applying for. 

Applications for seasonal positions are due on April 11th.

​Age requirements must be met by June 1st.

Pay rates range from approximately $16 to $25/hour based on the position, applicant education background and prior experience. For more specific information regarding pay rates please call the main office at 845-481-7330

  • Summer Camp Counselor (Must be at least 16 years of age) June to August

Responsibilities include: Plan and lead daily activities, ensure health and safety of all campers, report directly to the Camp Director.

Positions available at Junior Naturalist Camp, Hasbrouck Park Camp, Forsyth Park Camp, Loughran Park Camp, and Hutton Park Camp

  • Summer Camp Director (Must be at least 21 years of age) June to August

Responsibilities include: Oversee daily camp activities, supervise counselors, report directly to the Summer Camp Coordinator. 

Positions available at Forsyth Park Camp, Loughran Park Camp, and Hutton Park Camp

  • Tennis Instructor (Must be at least 16 years of age) June to August

Responsibilities include: Provide tennis training to students, improve students' tennis skills 

 

  • Pool Attendant (Must be at least 16 years of age) June to August

Responsibilities include: Greet and register guests, monitor pool capacity

  • Lifeguard (Must be at least 15 years of age and have valid certifications) June to August

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Plan and lead daily activities, ensure health and safety of all participants, chaperone field trips, report directly to the assigned Recreation Leader. 

Applications for the Recreation Assistant position ONLY are being accepted on a rolling basis. Age requirements must be met at the time of hiring.

Spring Break Adventure Camp Registration Opens -Monday, March 10, 2025

Registration for our popular Spring Break Adventure Series opens Monday March 10th. This year we will be visiting zoos, nature centers, skating rinks and more. Space is limited so register soon!

2025 Softball Registration OPEN - Monday, February 24, 2025

Presenting: Kingston Cooks

Join us for a FREE Kingston Cooks workshop on Demystifying Beets!

 

Join Chef Emmet Moeller of Common Table as we celebrate our Kingston Eats Harvest of the Month, BEETS, with this FREE hands-on cooking experience. Grown locally in the Hudson Valley and packed with nutrients, Chef Emmet will demystify the beautiful beet with raw, roasted, and pickled beet dishes. During a month all about the heart, both the physical and metaphysical, learn how to incorporate this heart-friendly food into your meal rotation!

  • Beet & Citrus Salad
  • Baked Risotto with Roasted Beets, Beet Greens & White Beans
  • Beet Brownies

 

The workshop is designed for adults. Teens aged 16 and 17 may attend with an adult.

 

Please arrive by 5:15pm to complete pre-workshop paperwork so that we may start promptly at 5:30pm. Late attendees might not be admitted depending on when they arrive. This is a safety issue as the beginning of the workshop includes kitchen safety instructions

Registration for the 2025 Kingston Parks and Recreation 14-18 Biddy Basketball League is now open! Deadline for registration is Saturday March 1st. Games will begin Sunday, March 23rd at 10:00am.
